Gratitude

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

Jane

Affection is desirable. Money is absolutely indispensable!”
– Mrs. Austen Becoming Jane Quotes.

The whole movie revolved around this notion. Though fictitious, this was a beautifully written screenplay.

EAT!

I don't understand why I didn't watch Julie & Julia when it first came out.

While watching it online over my all time favourite self-made steak for dinner, I had an ephiphany.

That is me! Julia! Well, just an older, fatter, caucasian version of me.
She becomes ecstatic, rolls her eyes shut and smacks her lips when she savours the first mouthful of her delicious dish! When her husband asks her:" What is it that you really like to do?"

"EAT!" She exclaimed.

And, the "All I think about all day is food!" The similarities between us are uncanny.

Now I am very determined to continue with MY own cook book. It probably won't be published, but at least it'll be something interesting to leave for posterity.

“To look life in the face, always, to look life in the face, and to know it for what it is...at last, to love it for what it is, and then to put it away.”

Claude Monet exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris!!! (22nd Sept – 24th Jan 2011)

Les Galeries nationales du Grand Palais

An exhibition of great wealth tracing back the artistic development of one of the most illustrious fathers of impressionism: Claude Monet.
Monet, the most celebrated representative of the Impressionist movement, painted for more than sixty years: landscapes (On the Bank of the Seine, Étretat, Belle-Île…), figures, still lifes (Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe). These masterpieces, rarely loaned by the Orsay Museum, form a unique ensemble within the exhibition, alongside other paintings from major foreign collections. In 1890, Monet acquired his now famous property at Giverny. His art moved on, especially with the large format Water Lilies series. He invented his own personal path, reconciling a deep attachment to nature with evocations of his own poetic universe.
Organised by the Réunion des musées nationaux and the Orsay Museum, the "Claude Monet 1840-1926" exhibition is the first monograph devoted to the artist since the major retrospective in 1980. Its international commissioners have set out to present the whole of his career, in the light of the most recent research. Bringing together 200 paintings, it will feature exclusive loans from countries all over the world including Australia, Brazil, USA, the Netherlands, and Russia.

An exhibition co-produced by the Réunion des musées nationaux and the Orsay Museum.
General commissioner: Guy Cogeval, President of Orsay Museum,
Commissioners: Sylvie Patin, General Curator at Orsay Museum, Sylvie Patry, curator, Anne Roquebert, Chief Curator at the Orsay Museum and Richard Thomson, Professor at Edinburgh University.

Opening from Friday to Monday from 9 am to 10 pm, on Wednesday from 10 am to 10 pm, on Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm, closed on every Tuesday and on December 25. Closing at 6 pm on December 24 and 31.

Leggings - Do's and Dont's

Autumn and Winter is coming up...time to make informed decisions when you decide to add leggings to your outfit!

Do's:
~ fabric that are thick, matte and dark
~with tops that cover butt, hips and crotch
~Use as an accessory; don't build look on legging, use it to accessorize outfit
~with ballet flats, wedges, or boots in the winter

Dont's:
x multicolored, glow-in-the-dark (yes, there are such a thing) trashy looking leggings
x Leggings are NOT pants. If you expose your camel toes, your top is waayyyyy too short!!
x Leggings are NOT stockings either! arggghhh!!!

a Wedding Poem

His hello was the end of her endings
Her laugh was their first step down the aisle
His hand would be hers to hold forever
His forever was as simple as her smile
He said she was what was missing
She said instantly she knew
She was a question to be answered
And his answer was "I do"

Run wild

Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed. Maybe they just need to run free till they find someone just as wild to run with them.

Me Time

All wrapped up in my cozy blanket, rewatching SATC with a big bowl of creamy vanilla, with Koops Island Blues playing in the background, I take in the city's skyline through the bedroom window.

C'est la vie!
